What is a manicure?
Just like you can watch plastic surgery videos online, you can watch manicure ones as well to get a good idea of what happens. Essentially this is the cleaning and polishing of your nails. But don’t worry, it involves a lot more than a quick wet wipe. Your nails will be cleaned, cut and shaped. The nail technician removes old nail polish and uses a buffer to smoothen the surface of your nails. She will then pay attention to your cuticles. They will be softened with cuticle oil and pushed back. After this, your nails will be polished. There is a base coat, the chosen polish and then a top coat. The base coat is used to help the polish stick whilst the top coat acts as a seal for protection.
Different types of manicures
There are several different types of manicures available for you to choose from. The classic French manicure is definitely the most popular. This is because it looks clean and is the most versatile. It features a pale pink polish with a white tip. Simply stunning. You can turn the French manicure on its head with the reverse style. This means you essentially move away from the traditional colors. You could have a clear polish with a bright pink tip. You could have a white polish with a black tip. Any color combination can be used. Aside from this, there is the paraffin manicure. If you have overworked hands or dry skin this is the option you should go for. Paraffin is a heated wax and it infuses the skin with moisture so that you are left with supple and smooth skin. It is extremely relaxing and very beneficial.
