Freebie Friday!

Edited: 3/19/2017

Hi friends! Although these social icons are no longer available, I wanted to share a great resource for creating your own social media icons! Iconmonstr is a fabulous, easy-to-use site that allows you to search for just the icon you're looking for. You can download the icon you choose in a multitude of formats, and the best part is that they are free for personal OR commercial use! Give them a try!

----------------------------------------

After searching the web for hours one evening, trying to find the perfect set of social media icons to use on my blog, I had an idea: Instead of spending all that time scouring Google for just the right color icons that I was looking for, to link to my Pinterest and Facebook, why not just make them myself?

So, that's what I did. And after a little bit of experimentation and some help from online font inspirations....Ta Da!

I thought that with this beautiful summer weather in full swing, who wouldn't want a little splash of sunshine on their sidebars? So without further adieu, I present to you some FREE Social Media Icons (the Sweet Summertime Edition).

That's right! These guys are free to use on your blogs, web pages, and other snazzy places on the web. You can do whatever you'd like with them, just please no selling them. Linking back is not mandatory, but much appreciated. :)

PS: All icons are 50 by 50 pixels, and in a PNG file format.

Need Help? - {Edit}

In order to use the icons, you'll need to download them onto your computer. You can do that by clicking on the link of the word for the icon you want (i.e. under "beach blue", click facebook to download the facebook icon).

After you have them all downloaded, you'll need to upload them to an image server. As a blogger user, I've always used photobucket for this. Wordpress users may upload pictures through wordpress using the built in media library.

Once you have your images uploaded, you'll be able to grab their Image URL.

In order to get them onto your sidebar:
From your Blogger Dahsboard, click Design, then Add Gadget. Select HTML/Javascript. This will open a blank text box where you'll input the HTML for your buttons. (Note: After saving, you'll be able to click and drag this HTML box wherever you'd like on your sidebar/blog!)

From your Wordpress Dashboard, go to Appearance, and then Widgets. Then, you should be able to click and drag the "Text" widget to your sidebar. It will open a blank text box. This is where you can input your HTML for the buttons.

After opening the HTML box on either Blogger or Wordpress, type in the following HTML code:

Here, "YourLink" is the link to your social media (i.e. Twitter.com/YourUsername), and "YourImageURL" is the URL for the picture you've uploaded (either onto photobucket or your Wordpress account).

If you need any extra help saving or uploading them to your blog, feel free to shoot me an email and I would be happy to help you out!
